Bali Day 3 - Tour

Our tour was supposed to pick us up at 9am
but arrived at 845am as we were the first to pick up
so husband and i had to rush like mad at last minute...
There was no aircon for the night and no water in the morning,
but lucky we bought a bottle of mineral water to wash up...

The driver informed us that our tour has been changed to a slightly more expensive tour
as they didnt have enough people in the original tour
we didnt mind since we didnt need to pay extra!
Apart from us, there were 2 other couples for the same tour..

First stop: Goa Gajah (Elephant cave temple)
Since it was not my first trip in bali, i bought a sarong on my first day to be used for temples visit
however, husband has to buy one on the spot as the sellers swamped to us when we alighted
i guess is a touristy thing that driver says we must have sarongs, sellers swamped you,
and you realised you can use the (dirty) rentable ones at the temples entrance!
anyway, we didnt mind another sarong since we have a few temples to visit for the day..

We only had about 20mins to explore on our own
I guess because it is one of the smaller temples
There was only a cave and some walks with elephant statues...
We didnt really walked much as time went spent bargaining with the sarong seller etcs...
Oh, although we are in a tour, we need to pay the entrance fees at each attractions, which is about eur1-3/pax..
Dont know is it because of the hot weather, or i got woke up at 7am by roosters or simply unfit,
i was starting to be tired after visiting this temple! (well it did feel like climbing up&down 4 storey)

Second stop: Gunung kawi
I was hoping that the next stop will not be a temle since i was tired and it was so hot
but sadly, we visited another temple that has the olden caynon in bali..
We were given 45mins to explore the place and this has to be the most tiring stop!
To reach the temple, we walked down about 10-15mins of stairs
I was wondering how we are going to climb up later -,-
It is quite good to have shops along the stairs, at least provide some distractions on the crawl up...
*Pardon my oily hair, i didnt had water to wash my hair*

3rd stop: Coffee Plantation
After the dreadful climbing of stairs to our gathering point,
I was so happy that we are going to the touristy coffee plantation for a break
because i really didnt want to climb anymore steps!
Although we need it was a tourist trap, where we would end up buying expensive coffee and tea
we still enjoyed the tour and free samples
Husband was really happy to finally taste his luwak coffee (poopoo coffee)
and spent more than we expected in buying them
Yes, they provided so many samples and i do not drink coffee..

4th spot: Mount Batur view The day was really hot and humid,
and we visited so many temples, with all the climbing of steps,
And the coffee plantation was still out of electricity...
that we were thinking that we will need go for massage spa again if there is no water in the guesthouse
Anyway, after the coffee, we were sent to a spot for the view of mount batur and lake
which was sort of middle of a road...
Intially, husband and i wanted to take a tour to climb up the mount batur
but it was expensive (50eur/pax), set off at 2am and will be a few hours of tour
we called of the idea and was happy to get this view too!

5th spot: Holy spring temple
Husband read this on internet that if you rinse yourself at the spring, it will bring good luck
he was a little excited at the possibility to take a dip at the spring
but there seemed to be some festival/event, the temple and spring were full of people!
That it will at least take 1hour queue to be under the spring, so we did not tried...
For me, im just happy there was not much steps to climb and we spent about 30mins there...

6th spot: Rice terrace restuarant
After that we were sent to another touristy spot for expensive lunch(euro15/pax),
but with the great view of rice terrace...
Husband felt the food was bad and expensive but we didnt complained much
because we were in touristy mood!

7th spot: Another temple
After lunch, we were feeling tired and wasnt really keen to visit another temple
before we entered this temple, the entrance demanded entrance fee of eur3/pax
which was more expensive than the other temples that we visited
so only husband paid and went in
while the rest (yes, other couples and me) stayed outside
suddenly, the entrance changed his mind and told us that we can all go in
just need to give him some tips after the tour
and for me, it was free because husband paid
Oh well, for unofficial tourist attractions, i guess not many people came
thus, the entrance fees became negotiable...
This temple wwas much smaller and nothing much to explore
We only stayed for about 15mins..

As part of our upgraded tour, there was a village that we could visit
however, after hearing the driver informed that there would be entrance fees and it was just a village
all of us decided to end the tour and returned to Ubud...
Due to traffic jam, husband and i only arrived our guesthouse area at about 5pm
We were so happy that electricity had resumed and we finally took a nice shower!
After shower, we went for dinner, usual minimart shopping and ended the night in the guesthouse..
where a lizard fell on my head while i was sitting at the courtyard...

It was definitely a long day and we rested early for our last day in ubud...
