The day before the wedding

So came the day before the wedding
All was packed 
We were ready to leave the appartment
The future father in law was to help us send more stuff to the dinner venue
But we were late, missed the train 
And had to delay them..
Not a good start
But things went off as planned
With slight delay.

Then came the crazy time
On trying to secure the bears 
So that we can tie them to the bear
The outcome was not perfect
But it was too late to do anything else
Cant go florist to do alternative flowers to car
Since it was valentines day

Then was a mad rush to meet fiance cousin
But his grandparents and aunt were around
So we had a quick drink
Which helped to calm my nerves

Due to the delay and time spent
We had to postpone our vday dinner reservations
But also came up the option to have dinner with the family

Then was another episode of madness
To secure the bears onto the car
I was really unhappy with the outcome
Because the bears looked strangled
And was thinking to have them removed
But everyone was trying so hard
That doesnt seems like an option

I had a time out from car decorations
And went outside with aven
This is when i broke down
Maybe is the wedding anxiety
Or stress
Or how i have not check in hotel
I felt everything was not going well
And tomorrow wont be fine
Aven has to try to clam the bride-to-be down

I didnt see the outcome of the car
But fiance rest assured that is fine
We finally checked in the hotel
Because i insisted to do so before dinner
Thereafter i declined the family dinner

Fiance suggested to go for a walk
And it gave us time to speak
Furthee calmed me down
We ended up with macdonalds for vday dinner
But i apreciated the alone time with him
And received my vday present!

Finally the time came for us to leave
I went back hotel feeling better
And he went for a drink with his cousin

I didnt plan on my bridal hairstyle
So i decided to braid my hair to sleep
And hope that it will be curly tomorrow

I had been trying to skype with my family
The whole day but they were busy
Finally at 230am i managed to skype with them
And it made me felt a lot better

So i went to bed at 3am
As the bride-to-be with 2 braided buns

Barcelona: The last singles trip!

i was really excited when Aven was coming paris

to attend our wedding

to and fro msgs on what he will be doing for other days

led to a discussion for a trip to barcelona!

it will be the first time im going other parts of europe

my final travel as a single (or rather unmarried) woman

first time taking internal domestic flight

a good break from wedding preparations 

Bracelona in spain..hmm sounds like a sexy place

so off we go...

we will supposed to fly on monday afternoon

return wednesday evening

in time for any last minute wedding preparations

and of course, back for the wedding, hehe

however, our monday flight was delayed

we were stuck in the plane for about 2 hours

and end up reaching our hotel at 8pm

so half a day was gone

but on the way to hotel

we passed by the incomplete Sagrada Familia

which i think has been buiding since the 1800s

anyway im not really a big fan of it

especially with the constructions around it

we just had a huge tapas dinner at a nearby bar

tapas is like many small dishes of different food

a little like mixed vegetables rice in singapore

just without rice

a great sangaria and a tired me

The great blessing was having a bathtub in hotel

i think both nights i was soaking in hot bath

with free wifi!

we didnt have much time to research what to visit or do

probably just eat, going to a club and visit the famous gaudi buildings

so to catch up with lost time

we woke up early on tuesday

and start searching for the gaudi buidling

this is when i discovered that barcelona is a big shopping paradise!

things are cheaper than in paris

many sales were going on

and factory outlet of spanish brands like mango

so shopping was the new plan!

Anyway, not researching about the stories behind the gaudi buidling

and being cheapo

we didnt pay for any tour inside the building

and was more of searching the buildings

we were supposed to visit a building on the mountain top

captured by the photo above

the tiny castle-like building on a hill

however, we spent too much time shopping and eating

that we were too tired and it was too late to go out

more tapas and sangaria for the day

and we tried the seafood rice

i cant remember the actual name

is nice except ill prefer the chinese soft rice

the rice is half cooked risotto style

but being near the sea, seafood was great

a rare treat that is hard to find in paris

  

 

i was very excited by the fountains

unlike in singapore

fountains played a huge part in europe history

as the households water source

i was amused that with pipes to everyone homes

the fountains are still functioning!

although i dont know whether people still uses the fountains

we managed to find a market after lunch

it was full of fresh fruits and grocery

too bad we were too full

wish i could buy them back to paris

however we did bought the strawberries 

they were so huge and sweet

we ended the night at a pub

however it was tuesday

there were only 5 of us inside

so we left after a beer

wednesday was a short last minute shopping

and back to paris 

where the fiance was happy to see us

ps joke of the trip

i saw a trip santa monica

and kept singing the song

santa monica by savage gardens

although we know that they are probably not singing about santa monica in barcelona

okay, i googled..it was about santa monica in california

it was definitely a rushed trip

but never expect myself to be hanging out with aven

at barcelona and not a kopitiam

looks forward to more europe adventures in the near future.

for the expenses paid trip..haha

dealing with the pre-wedding anxious bride

and bringing me back safe and sound for the wedding! 

The bachelor weekend

before aven and i went barcelona
Fiance and his friends went to Cologne, Germany
for the bachelor weekend
it was supposed to be a surprise trip for fiance
a few weeks before the trip
i received a phone call from fiance friend
and i was entasked with the secret mission
1) let fiance believe there is no bachelor party planned for him
2) make him take the friday afternoon off
3) to be interviewed by his friend for wedding video
4) find out fiance boss number 

1) This was easy
because all his friends were in the act
no mention of any party and trip till the very last moment
fiance was a little upset when i mentioned i was going barcelona
and also about how his friends are not planning anything for him

2) This was quite difficult
we spoke many times how his leaves are precious
due to our wedding, honeymoon and sg wedding
so i lied that aven was arriving early onfriday
that my sister packed an extra luggage of my stuff for him to bring
how we will be unable to carry so many luggages up to the appartment
fiance must be wondering where is the usual independent and strong me
but he still took his afternoon off

3)  Fiance never liked the idea of me having people around at home
when he is at work
although it was easy to invite his friend up for the interview
it was more my guilty conscience that i had to hide from him
that his friend came when he is at work

4) i tried to secretly search through the contact list
but didnt found the number
so the friends decided it was fine not having it
although they did mentioned that the number may be saved 
under names such as shit or bastard
we are still fine for fiance to keep this a secret to himself

the plan was for fiance to be off work at 1200pm
and reach home at 1pm 
where all his friends will be waiting
it takes about 30mins to travel home
so i suggested that i meet fiance for lunch outside
although i know we wont have time for lunch

on the actual day,
his friends started appearing at home
with their props at about 1215pm
new update, fiance needs to work late till 1230pm
so it was great news!
end up, friends were delayed and i need to ask fiance to be back at 130pm instead..
when fiance arrived our lunch place at about 1.10pm
i had to lied that aven flight got delayed and i was not feeling well
so that he can come home
this is when i recieved many msgs from fiance
about how unhappy he was about
why i didnt check the flight earlier
why i was still at home at 1pm when im meeting him at 1.10pm
etc etc
so i can only continue to say how sick i am
and hope he wont be angry

so the plan was going fine
fiance was comong home
everyone was ready
but he was taking much longer time
30 mins instead of 15mins
he actually thought i am very sick and went buy me medicine..
awww so sweet..

since everyone was in the room
i tricked fiance to go into room
to turn on the radiator
and he got a huge surprise!

fiance had a good trip with his friends
and he really didnt expected for this surpise..

Dear fiance,
so sorry that i need to hide and lie to you
but im sure it was a good surprise trip!  

wedding car

it was difficult to decide for the wedding car
we didnt want to rent a car
so we decided for the cousin car
then came the realiation that is a 2-doors car
not really bride-friendly
but i guess we stick with it

so to decorate the car
the florist decoration were not really impressive
unlike singapore
they looked more like a bouquet of flowers on the car
and the bouquet looks like what you present to a guest of honor
or present presentation style
and non v-day price was euro100!

so we were for a long serach of bears and ribbons
we finally found the bears and ribbons
but now i need figure out 
how to ensure they dont flew away on the expressway..
hmmm..

oh the store-owner told us that we bought
Scott and Sarah..
how cute is that?


 

 

New dishes...

Since i had hurom juicer
been trying to think of what to do with the fruit waste
so i tried making a carrot cake

overall its quite nice
the texture taste more like ji dan gao
maybe because i have no whisk
so it was manual whisking

but its my first bake at home!
more to come...

PS i tried to roast a chicken
end up looking good
but super dry...
i over cooked it because i was afraid of undercook
haha

Our wedding invitation cards

After the many virtual discussion 
with the invitation card printers
our invitation cards are finally ready
and sent out!

The print came out as how we visualised it
so its great
and everyone received them now!

Wedding flowers..

We got a few quotation for our flowers
thank god that the chataeu providees the table flowers
because the price of flowers doubled
for valentines day!

just as we thought not to get married on v-day
we intended to collect the flowers the day before
and realised its v-day..
and we decided to collect on the actual day
but the price will still be v-day price
because flowers are apparently more limited
after the massive sales on v-day
some shops were indicating that they are unsure 
to have red roses left for 15th!
okay, Paris the city of love...

oh well
not as if we can have a choice
at least 1 task done..
