Beglium (13 Aug) - brussels (part 1)

At last minute, we decided to go for a short holiday for husband's birthday!
But it was so last minute booking + france public holiday + summer holiday,
all the train and flight tickets were so expensive
that we ended up taking a coach to beglium
luckily, it was just 4-5 hours coach but much cheaper!

So on the birthday eve,
I made a simple cheesecake and we celebrated at home
Husband is very happy with the cake
while i think the texture is a little too rough
As I didn' have a big budget for husband's gift
end up, he had 7 small gifts to be given at every 4 hours..haha

Early morning, we went to the bus station quite far from home
and board our coach!
As there was no assignment of seats,
we ended up in separate seats and i fell asleep
assicdently, stroking the old man's arm beside me
SOOOOO embarassing.. haha

And we arrived in Brussels!
Since it was husband's birthday,
i secretly emailed the hotel and hope for some extra freebies
and they gave us a free room upgrade!
I think it was the first time we stayed in a big room at that price
however, we were busy exploring the city
and didnt really spent much time at hotel

Unexpectedly, we were staying near the arab area of brussels
and accidently discovered the weight=price seafood restuarants!
Apparently, they are only available in the arab area
the seafood were fresh and cheap!
we ended up returning on the last day for another seafood feast!
in addition, i discover how much i love arab mint tea
and started making them at home
not good for diet with the crazy amount of sugar inside

Beglium is the land of chcolates, waffles, fries and beers
I lost count of the number of shops selling these
and we did had a good share of all the items during our trip

So the day were spent eating,
visiting husband's fave (chocolate shops),
searching for famous wall grafitti,
visit the still-building flower carpets,
drinking beer,
visiting the famous peeing boy and girl,
which are really small!

Even the chocolate shop has a bigger pissing boy!
